Then it identifies the sources of energy and compares US with other countries. I wonder if there are countries that have higher than the U.S. per capita consumption? If they are, probably author deliberately omitted them. Including Haiti is also not accidental - after the recent earthquake it is quite firmly engraved in the minds of Americans.
